HR Business Partner

Description

At Pearson, we’re committed to a world that’s always learning and to our talented team who makes it all possible. From bringing lectures vividly to life to turning textbooks into laptop lessons, we are always re-examining the way people learn best, whether it’s one child in our own backyard or an education community across the globe. We are bold thinkers and standout innovators who motivate each other to explore new frontiers in an environment that supports and inspires us to always be better. By pushing the boundaries of technology — and each other to surpass these boundaries — we create seeds of learning that become the catalyst for the world’s innovations, personal and global, large and small.

We are seeking an HR Generalist with strong employee relations experience, excellent project management skills, systems-savvy with attention to detail, and a credible, professional presence. The position is based in San Antonio and will perform a variety of tasks ranging from handling employee relations, to organizing activities that further the business and the culture, to serving as a hands-on resource for data, tracking, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have an engaging style that is approachable yet confident and composed, exhibiting patience, integrity, and high moral fortitude. A creative thinker with a knack toward problem-solving and strong attention to detail for planning, organizing, tracking, reporting, and auditing will also be critical to success. Reporting to the VP of HR, responsibilities include:

  • Lead resolution of employee relations issues, seeking to address root causes using a systematic approach. Follow issues to resolution and/or escalate when needed.
  • Guide managers on strategies for high performing teams and driving employee development.
  • Conduct compensation analysis, providing recommendations that align with business needs and market drivers.
  • Provide generalist support to employees both locally and across the Assessments organization (virtually), responding to questions and educating on self-service tools and processes.
  • Seek opportunities to engage employees and enhance organizational health; strategize ways to expand programs that promote and improve a positive environment.
  • Monitor the on-boarding and off-boarding of employees, keeping apprised of concerns and trends.
  • Manage the quality of HRIS employee data for assigned business units.
