The Hyperion HFM Architect will be responsible for design, development, maintenance and support HFM applications. In addition they will also provide input to the design and delivery of reports across the wider Hyperion landscape (Essbase, HFR’s).
They will be expected to work closely with Group Finance business stakeholders to ensure all future developments work undertaking by internal Pearson IT and AMS teams effectively addresses user requirements. Other key partners will include the Reporting Centre of Excellence (RCoE) and the Enabling Program (TEP) team
The role holder will provide active input to ensuring quality of the support service and may also be required to assist general support tasks during key reporting periods e.g. year end statutory reporting.
This position is integral to the provision of timely and accurate reporting of financial information to senior management and Pearson plc.
On a day to day basis the role holder with report to Financial Information Systems Manager.
Provide active input into the analysis and requirement gathering for any application changes request by the business (including an “impact assessment” where applicable).
Act as the design authority for enhancements and updates to HFM applications, working alongside offshore support and development teams.
Provide “hands on” involvement in application development as and when required (writing HFM rules, modifying metadata etc)
Input into the design and build of interfaces to transfer data between legacy and current reporting applications (FDMEE location design and mapping set up)
Provide active input on Hyperion application tuning to ensure optimal performance is maintained
Partner with infrastructure support teams and internal/external technology stakeholders to resolve application issues.
Help design, improve, execute and support Pearson systems strategy and landscape to enable the efficient production of internal reporting, that meets the needs of all key users
Qualifications and experience required:
Extensive experience in the design, development and support of complex HFM applications including; metadata and application security maintenance, managing data loads, writing/debugging HFM rules, web form design, Smartview & Financial Reports
A good understanding of the wider Oracle EPM product suite including FDMEE Essbase & Planning
Strong analytical skills to capture data for business stakeholders and accurately interpret these in into system requirements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to interact effectively with technology partners, business application gatekeeper, the Reporting Centre of Expertise and key finance stakeholders.
Change management process knowledge to help to ensure all application support, maintenance and development activities adhere to defined process for an application in scope for SOX & IT controls
The ability to manage multiple task and balance priorities, whilst maintaining a structured approach and ensuring high quality of any deliverables.
Project management skills
Self motivated with a high level of attention to detail.
Part qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Knowledge of Oracle EBS
Exposure to Oracle cloud based EPM solutions
