Grade - Professional
Northampton
Salary £24,039 - £28,615 pro rata plus benefits and package DOE

We’re pleased to offer an opportunity to join our Information Governance Team in an established mental healthcare provider as Information Governance Co-ordinator on a 12 month secondment / fixed term contract reporting directly to the charity Data Protection Officer.

We are looking for you to have a good understanding of information governance issues and experience of writing policies, procedures and guidance. You will also ideally have knowledge of statutory and legal frameworks such as the Data Protection Act (DPA) and the NHS Digital Data Security and Protection Toolkit.
We are also looking for you to have excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain information governance concepts to non-technical colleagues and the ability to quickly build trust and relationships up-and-down the organisation.

Whist we have a preference to appoint someone with Information Governance experience, we are prepared to consider candidates with limited experience to whom we will offer training and support.

Firstly, a bit about us

St Andrew’s is the UK’s leading mental healthcare charity with an excellent and well-deserved reputation as a provider of specialist mental healthcare, and a top 20 charity overall.  We have a multi-disciplinary team of over 4,500 staff who deliver excellent, innovative and holistic care each day across our five locations.

As a charity, all of our profits are re-invested into new services and new facilities, a legacy which has carried on through our 178 year history.  Today we proudly continue to build excellent mental healthcare services – with Europe’s largest adolescent unit recently opened.  And because we’re independent, we have the flexibility to make a real difference in the world of mental health.  Joining us is your chance to make a big contribution to the lives of some of society’s most vulnerable people.

The role and person

This position will play a key role in supporting the implementation of Information Governance and data protection requirements across the Charity.

You will help develop and support organisational policies and processes that ensure we comply with data protection law and good information management practice.

The role will require you to carry out data protection assessments on new projects and initiatives to ensure no impact on privacy of patients, as well as co-ordinating the annual submission of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit to NHS Digital with any relevant action plans that are required.

You will also facilitate the updating and writing of information governance policies, liaise with internal audit teams and help support the delivery of information governance training to all staff as well as other activities to help ensure good information governance practice.

Rewards and Benefits pro rata

We offer an excellent benefits package including:
•         Excellent professional and career development and training opportunities
•         Pension and life assurance
•         Sickness policy on par with the NHS
•         35 days annual leave, increasing to 41 further after 10 years' service
•         Cycle to work scheme
•         Childcare vouchers
•         Healthcare cash plan
•         Free parking
•         Paid DBS application
•         On-site facilities such as gym access and boot camp, swimming pool, café, library all set within beautiful grounds.
