We’re pleased to offer an opportunity to join our Information Governance Team in an established mental healthcare provider as Information Governance Lead on a permanent basis reporting directly to the Charity Data Protection Officer.

This role will be to have a core focus on ensuring the Charity is able to demonstrate compliance with Data Protection legislation and comply with the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit. The role will act as a key figurehead and subject matter expert to support colleagues in providing innovative and joined up working whilst identifying privacy and data security risk and supporting the Charity to mitigate these risks. The role will also manage a small team who are dedicated to dealing with subject access requests coming into the Charity.

The role and person

The role holder will be the operational lead for the implementation and management of the Information Governance and data protection framework across the Charity.

We are looking for you to have an excellent understanding of information governance issues and experience of leading all aspects of an information governance compliance programme including ensuring that information is managed effectively to support the delivery of excellent patient care. As post holder you will have a working understanding of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, the Data Protection Act, Records Management and privacy Risk Management.

We are also looking for you to have excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain information governance concepts to non-technical colleagues and the ability to quickly build trust and relationships up-and-down the organisation.

You will be given the support to succeed in this role and the opportunity for development and progression within the Charity.
