We are looking for talented Infrastructure Engineers (Desktop) to join us on our journey to service excellence within our Technology Services team.

Technology Services provide the foundations upon which digital services for DWP are developed and operate. Our purpose is to deliver secure, user-centric, high quality and cost-efficient digital infrastructure services and to run live IT operations that support DWP business objectives.

Our team is made up of 1,500 colleagues working collaboratively across 10 portfolio-led teams in a fast-moving environment, delivering an end-to-end suite of digital products and services that support DWP colleagues and citizens in an ever-evolving technology landscape.

We are looking for a number Infrastructure Engineers of different levels to work with our team which has recently expanded to take ownership & control of the Desktop services from a long-term supplier.

Duties. Work. Projects.

Our Desktop SCCM & W10 team are responsible for all elements of the Departments Desktop and Software deployment, configuration, security and continued roadmap development.

This primarily involves the management and implementation of Microsoft Evergreen strategies for key technologies in Configuration Manager and Windows 10, but also includes several other supporting infrastructure components in iVanti Device Control, Microsoft Bitlocker, KMS and VPN Client integrations such as Checkpoint and Zscaler.

We are the owners of the service, and thus accountable for all day-to-day operational change and project related design elements. We own the Desktop roadmap and have a multi-year plan to deliver an enhanced service, with several long-term pieces of work ongoing.

Our aim is to provide a modern, reliable and flexible service that allows simple, secure access for deployment and management of modern desktop devices, using industry best practice for:

- Microsoft Configuration Manager, WSUS, Intune, Autopilot

- Windows 10 Builds and continued updates aligning with Evergreen

- Supporting Desktop Technologies to allow seamless integration to the whole End User Desktop experience.

In return for your skills we offer competitive salary for this role up to £45,666 per annum for the Infrastructure Engineer role, increasing to up to £64,589 per annum if you were to be successful for a Senior position.
