This role is responsible for the groups overall tax reporting, with an initial focus on planning and delivering the 2019 year end process. The role is for 6 months but may be extended.

The role will be supported by an existing manager with some experience of year end.

Responsibilities

  • Own the consolidated group tax reporting, including cash tax, ETR and interest on tax provisions
  • Resolve outstanding audit issues from interim reporting, including completion of the audit of IFRIC 23
  • Scope and plan this years reporting activities and SOX controls and ensure the wider tax department is prepared for year end
  • Review the US, US and ROW reporting and resolve any issues with either process or technical accounting questions
  • Review the consolidation entries and ensure tax effected appropriately
  • Prepare summary review documents and analytical review and brief the SVP tax
  • Ensure all SOX controls operate effectively
  • Manage the audit process
  • Prepare the preliminary announcement and annual report tax disclosures

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience gained in international organisation.
  • Senior Tax Reporting Role in FTSE 100 (or equivalent) company
  • Detailed understanding of International Accounting Standards as they impact tax reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with other central functions in particular Financial Control and Internal Audit
  • Record of a proactive and creative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills
