As part of Macmillan’s Data Programme, a project has been initiated to improve our Information Security management and technical controls. Specifically, one of the key outputs of the project will be to deliver an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and undergo certification with the ISO 27001 standard. Additionally, the project will introduce and embed best practice IT Security controls across its technology estate.
Consequently, we are seeking an experienced, committed and energetic IT Security Engineer to lead on all technical elements of the project and to act in the capacity of IT Security SME. The successful applicant will be highly technical, have a thorough technical grounding in Microsoft Network and Infrastructure technology, application/web security, cryptography and all aspects of IT Security technology. The role is permanent and the successful applicant will take a technical lead role within the wider Information Security, Risk & Compliance team once the project has been delivered. The role will involve working closely with colleagues in the Technology and Information Governance teams and a variety of internal stakeholders and 3rd party Security & Compliance consultants.
You have an engaging style, strong work ethic, are task focused, conscientious and able to communicate comfortably at all levels with people of varying technical ability. You have a passion of IT Security and a positive can-do attitude.

The role will be full-time, permanent and will report to the Information Security, Risk and Compliance Manager.
