Lead DevOps Engineer - Up to £87,933, 30% pension contributions, 60% work from home

This is a real DevOps leadership role. You will have the freedom and autonomy to drive the development of our technical landscape in the DevOps space.

We're looking for someone who has the vision to lead multiple teams in the adoption of cutting-edge infrastructure and development technologies.

DWP is the UK's biggest department. The products we work on will be used by millions of people every day, to access support and payments, and to find work.

As a Lead DevOps Engineering in Hybrid Cloud Services, you will be working on our Kubernetes platforms which underpin our future technical and architectural direction for application hosting.

We host Kubernetes platforms in both AWS and Azure and new DWP services will be hosted on our shared platforms.

You will need to demonstrate experience in building, managing and updating a shared Kubernetes platform, as well as creating reusable pipelines for automated testing and deployment.

You're a DevOps Expert and an ace Engineering Leader. That's why we're hiring you, and that's what we want you to do here.

You'll need skills and experience in:

• Experience of providing technical leadership and support within a team of DevOps Engineers.
  
  Significant experience of Linux Operating Systems.
  
  * Significant experience of Scripting systems for example Terraform.
  
  * Significant experience of Version Controls systems (Git and GitLab CI).
  
  * Significant experience of working in an agile environment building, deploying, supporting, patching and operating cloud applications (in particular AWS and Azure).
  
  * Significant experience of containers and containerised workloads e.g. orchestration services such as Kubernetes and ISTIO.
