LifeScan Scotland was created in 2001 when Johnson & Johnson acquired the UK assets of Inverness Medical Ltd, a medical device company established in Inverness in 1995 to design and manufacture glucose test strips, and design electronic meters for the global diabetes market.
With a focus on future development, LifeScan is committed to “creating a world without limits for people with diabetes.” Around 1,000 people are employed at the Inverness site, which is regarded as Johnson & Johnson’s centre of excellence for diabetes and self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG).

We are looking for bright individuals who want to push themselves to help us deliver the next generation of products for the worlds largest healthcare company.
This is a fantastic opportunity to study and gain valuable, practical knowledge & skills whilst being paid a salary.
Working closely with the Highlands and Islands Univeristy in Inverness, where you can kick start your career, learning new skills in a fast paced and exciting environment.
As well as on the job training and personal development, these apprentice-training program will result in the attainment of either an SVQ or HNC and many carry on to complete their Degree qualification. With the Finance route you will have the foundation stages of ACCA Professional Accounting Papers.

What you’ll own and how you’ll grow:
Joining the programme will give you the opportunity for professional development and growth whilst studying. Pathways towards HNC, HND or Degree are possible depending on your level of academic qualifications at the time of starting. In this role you will be part of a technically expert team providing innovative solutions in a creative environment.
To gain this amazing opportunity to study whilst earning then we will need you to be committed to working hard and pushing yourself to learn and grow.
Enginerring & Quality - Ideally we are looking for candidates to have attained or working towards 2 Highers including Maths, and Physcis and have a basic understanding of Engineering principals
Finance - Ideally we are looking for candidates to have attained a good range of National 5 subjects including Mathematics and/or Accounting/Business/Economics. Together with having a basic understanding of Finance principals

Don’t worry if you don’t hear from us for a little while. Once the role closes we will start the short listing process. You will receive an outcome by the end of May and we will the commence with our assessments in June to get you ready to start college in August.
