Job Description

The LSE Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method seeks applications for a one-year LSE Fellowship in Philosophy, which has the potential to be extended for a further 1-2 years subject to performance and funding availability.


The LSE Fellow in Philosophy will participate in research, teaching, and undergraduate advising, with a teaching load appropriate for an early-career faculty member at LSE. Fellows are also encouraged to take full advantage of the Department's vibrant philosophy of science research environment and resources.


Candidates will have a completed or near-complete PhD in Philosophy or another discipline involving philosophy of physics, by the post start-date. Candidates must have a strong or strongly-developing research record in the philosophy of physics and demonstrate a broad knowledge of the philosophy of physics. Candidates must also have experience of teaching in the philosophy of physics at a level that is accessible to undergraduates, although the ability to teach in further areas is desirable. Candidates should also possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
