Macmillan are seeking an experienced community engagement professional to provide expert leadership and facilitation skills to the geographic team to ensure that Macmillan’s community engagement work delivers meaningful outcomes for people living with cancer.
You’ll enable communities across North-West & South-West London to influence new service developments and improve existing services, by working with people affected by cancer, in line with our community engagement framework.
You’ll plan, deliver and evaluate community engagement activity, facilitate conversations around cancer care and patient experience and co-produce solutions to local health inequalities. You’ll also support the delivery of our London Cancer Community project and connect communities to our new support grants.
It’s particularly important that you demonstrate a sound knowledge of best practice standards for community engagement and have significant experience of facilitating engagement practises such as listening events and co-production sessions. You will also have a good understanding of working in both community settings and health systems, demonstrating strong stakeholder management and effective communication skills.
And what do we offer you in return? We’ll commit to your personal development and offer staff benefits including a private medical insurance, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous leave and gym membership.
You’ll be joining a talented team of staff and volunteers committed to ensuring no one in London faces cancer alone.
The role is home based, but involves regular travel across London and occasional travel across the UK. Some evening and out-of-hours work will also be required.
We have exciting plans for our community engagement work and your passion for helping others will be pivotal in delivering meaningful outcomes for people living with cancer.
