We are looking for an experienced, motivated and confident Programme Manager to join Macmillan and lead a ‘portfolio' of complex programmes of work in partnership with a range of internal and external partners

Job Description

As programme manager, you will oversee the delivery of several programmes and portfolios of projects to ensure the geography can deliver on Macmillan’s strategic priorities.  You will be leading complex, cross-directorate and organisational programmes of work including system wide change programmes and be comfortable with matrix management. 

As an expert practitioner you will act as a leader in implementation of Project and Programme Management best practice. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team for the Geography and ensure delivery of outputs to time, budget and quality and put the person affected by cancer at the heart of everything you do.

With a proven track record of successful delivery and evaluation of major service improvement development programmes you will be a self-motivated individual who can deliver programmes through the full project life cycle, a strong team player and communicator who can confidently drive programmes forward. 

Demonstrating excellent influencing, negotiation and relationship-building skills you will have a comprehensive understanding of the NHS ‘market’ environment and understand how services are commissioned and delivered. You will work at board and chief executive level, working across NHS boundaries, local government and with other key stakeholders to bring about transformational change.
