Job Description

The Maintenance Efficiency Manager is the Functional Head for maintenance efficiency activities in Petrochemicals. As the Maintenance Efficiency Manager, you will own and maintain maintenance efficiency strategies, practices, common process, KPIs, procedures, guides and work processes. You will build maintenance efficiency and execution to deliver programs, provides metrics and oversight for maintenance performance, supports the sites in assessing and driving down maintenance costs while ensuring risk based maintenance prioritization. Additionally, you will work with the rest of the global Petrochemicals Maintenance team to create maintenance risk compliance, learning and conducting assurance, and drive efficient utilization of data and information to improve performance across the Petrochemicals business.

  • Develop and implement overall Petrochemicals maintenance efficiency strategy to deliver high quality / cost effective maintenance processes/practices focused on safe and reliable operations, improvement of manufacturing and individual performance in support of business objectives, and critical skill gaps closure against industry benchmarks.
  • Maintain the maintenance common process and continuously improve the process based on shared learnings including KPIs and SAP
  • Leverage - Work with Maintenance Manager's Network (MMN) facilitator to lead maintenance improvements and develop deep expertise in maintenance efficiency delivery and long term sustainability of improvements
  • Define Organization Capability needs and drive professional development for maintenance leaders
  • Provide Specialist Technical Function support to global regions
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured, codified and embedded in workflows and transferred to and embedded in standards and practices
  • Ensure compliance with BP Requirements and undertake verification and assurance of maintenance best practices across all sites
  • Promote and deliver common ways of working to standardize and simplify maintenance execution
  • Hold an independent view on maintenance performance and support global plans for continuous improvement including integration with Downstream Refining GRIP
  • Input into business improvement plans (BIPs) and other planning processes
  • Support the evaluation of emerging maintenance efficiency tools, systems (Meridium) and processes and act as 'gatekeeper' when determining best practice
  • Reviews and provides guidance on Regional/Site Maintenance Strategies to assess do-ability and optimization
  • Drives the frequent reporting and analysis of common maintenance performance indicators making timely interventions when necessary

  • Engineering degree - Chartered Engineer, PE or significant Industry recognition

  • 10+ years' experience working with maintenance in a refining or petrochemical environment
  • Experience in maintenance efficiency
  • Demonstrated success working within diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Highly competent in relationship management working with a diverse set of stakeholders including contractors
