Days Based Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £43,696 plus excellent companywide benefits
Monday – Friday 37.5 hrs per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer, to join our team based at our Beverage factory in Dalston, Cumbria.
Nestlé Dalston Factory in Cumbria is the European Centre for cappuccino and creamers producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing and expanding leading brands such as Nescafé Frothy Coffee, Azera, Aero Hot Chocolate and Coffeemate.
A day in the life of a Maintenance Engineer
As Maintenance Engineer, your key objective will be to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant performance. Using Nestlé’s factory systems, you will analyse data to identify un-reliable equipment on this site and strive to improve the reliability through continuous improvement projects, implementation of TPM stream methodologies and root cause analysis.
You will Report directly to the Maintenance Managers working closely with the factory reliability engineer, maintenance planners and maintenance technicians to implement a strategy and robust maintenance plan for assets throughout the factory in order to increase reliability and improve asset intensity.
Other responsibilities will include:
• Implementation of the area’s MWG (maintenance working group) plan and participate in line improvements across the manufacturing facility.
• Support and complete root cause analysis to reduce stoppages and recurrence.
• Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practice standards in respect of plant, tools and environment.
• Support and challenge your colleagues to maintain all company standards.
• Ensure compliance with the Nestlé quality policy particularly engineering change management and line release
• Become a specialist in PM stream methodologies
• Play a key role in TPM expansion throughout the factory by coaching and mentoring technicians, craft, apprentices and operators to enable them to become autonomous.

• Qualified to NVQ level 3/City & Guilds with Electrical/Mechanical Bias or equivalent
• Strong work ethic and a self-starter.
• Manage and prioritise workload in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of problem-solving methodology.
• Experienced working with automated processes and PLC’s, Allen Bradley desirable.
• Ability to influence by having strong inter person skills.
• Ability to coach, lead and manage across all levels and work on own initiative.
