Job Description

Working in the Analytics group in J&J Consumer is about much more than simply crunching numbers – it’s about finding compelling insights using data analysis techniques and using your business and communication skills to translate those insights into action. As Analytics Manager, you will be a key partner for our EMEA Regional Franchise marketing teams, together, you’ll provide insights and drive support driving growth with our customers and shoppers across all markets and categories in this diverse region. You’ll spend your time digging into many different complex data sets, combining, and analyzing them. The data will not remain inert in your hands, however, since you’ll use your critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills to influence and drive thoughtful and well-informed decision making with our most senior business leaders within the organization.

 

Your networking skills will make it easy for you to collaborate with regional and global colleagues from Analytics, Sales, Marketing and IT to develop and implement solutions as part of our Analytic Strategy. Your attention to detail and big picture view will allow you to shape our EMEA analytics agenda while building solutions to tackle unique challenges in specific markets and channels.

To hit the ground running, you ideally bring some knowledge about CPG data with you – metrics like “distribution” or “velocity” and “GRP” sound familiar. Having worked closely with marketing in consumer oriented industries will help you gain traction quickly with our key stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  •  Be a key partner for EMEA Regional marketing team
  • Provide analytical and business leadership in bringing data driven insights to all aspects of decision making
  • Provide leadership solving complex business issues using advanced approaches to syndicated data
  • Work alongside our various data and analytics agencies looking to maximise relationships and the value of the contracts
  • Support the overall management of the data and analytics budget
  • Manage the overall training agenda of both our customised data and analytics platforms alongside a self-sufficiency ethos driven approach to the wider community becoming versed in analytics themselves.
  • Support the overall media mix econometric modelling co-ordination across the region, driving best practice through the whole process from data collection with our media agency partners through to de-brief and associated action afterwards
  •  Provide analytic support for Business Planning and long-term business strategy by identifying and forecasting trends based on wide range of data like macro-economics, syndicated, pathological, etc

 

Qualifications

  • Business experience using analytics to drive business/marketing results in, ideally, multiple information-dense, consumer-facing industries (e.g., consumer packaged goods, consumer health, retail).
  • Experience with multivariate statistical analysis including such areas as regression, logistic regression, cluster analysis, time series, latent class modelling and machine learning
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau. Additional proficiency in R, Python, and SQL are a plus.
  • Ability to think analytically to understand complex or ambiguous problems or issues and communicate solutions/conclusions clearly and concisely with the appropriate visuals.
  • Able to work and lead in a metrics organization across functions and geography
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to drive multiple high-profile projects to successful completion in parallel, on time and within budget.
  •  Ability to influence cross-functional and upper management to impact decision-making; Willingness to “have an opinion” backed up by insight and analytics and the confidence to influence key stakeholders in meetings and one to one basis is required.
