The role includes supporting one half of Pearson wide process areas from a risk and control perspective include Risk and Control matrices updates and including gap resolutions. It also involves testing controls as needed. The role will also ensure the Risk and Control Matrices for areas outside of the US including Brazil and the UK are complete and accurate. A main focus will be managing deficiencies across Pearson on a weekly basis and partnering with all owners for clear and sustainable action plans. The role will also be responsible for building internal control documentation across Pearson Core and Growth markets.
This role will serve as a UK/PFS subject matter expert and will be a main point of contact for UK control improvements and initiatives. The role will support wider initiatives such as overall deficiency tracking across the Pearson globe and support other areas such as Brazil and wider UK control initiatives. A large function of the role will be a key contact for the UK and will coordinate testing amongst individuals outside of the COE who are supporting UK testing (the Manager will perform a high amount of testing as well). The role will require a large amount of subject matter expertise, organization, be deadline oriented, and will not be a people leader but will require thought leadership.
The main activities will include supporting the maintenance of a deficiency tracker across Pearson and ensuring all control deficiencies across Pearson are closed timely with sustainable controls. This will include holding regular meetings and meeting deadlines. The role will manage one half of the Pearson wide process controls and supporting other controls as needed. The role will also support one half of all the process areas including all the process flows, the risks, controls, and the resolutions for any issues within the process areas as well as directly managing all the process areas outside of the US. This role will serve as a UK/PFS subject matter expert and will be a main point of contact for UK control improvements and initiatives. The role will also require extensive time with Core and Growth markets to build out internal control documentation.#LI-LP1
The role requires being located in Belfast and a Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. It requires strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
