With the number of people living with cancer on the increase, the need for impactful media coverage to support our work to influence policy and promote our services has never been greater. This is a pivotal role in supporting Macmillan to make a real difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.
As a key senior role within the media and PR team, you will work closely with the head of media and other PR managers, as well as a wide range of teams across the charity including policy, public affairs, services and evidence. Leading in the development of excellent and award-winning PR campaigns, you will be a play a central role in developing strategy and integrated campaigns.
Identifying, preventing and responding to reputational risks, you will advise colleagues across the organisation and help to build continued trust in Macmillan.
An impressive communicator, you will thrive in a large organisation and be able to build strong relationships with colleagues across different disciplines. This role has a significant number of stakeholders so you will need to be an effective influencer and proactive in championing the role of media within Macmillan.
With solid PR experience – ideally gained in house – you will inspire and motivate a high performing team, ensuring the delivery of consistently high-quality results. You will be flexible and able to think creatively, championing innovation and strategic thinking. You will also champion and model Macmillan’s values and behaviours.
