Job Description

The MLP Commercial Manager is a key role within the Business Development and Commercial team in the BP US Pipelines organization. The MLP Commercial Manager is responsible for leading asset drops between BP America and BP Midstream Partners (BPMP). The role is integral to the success of midstream growth for BP Fuels North America and growth BPMP. The role is required to lead the future sale of assets to from BP entities to BPMP. The MLP Commercial Manager plays in integral role in ensuring asset readiness for sale through intimate knowledge of the drop process and ability to work across a cross functional team.

BPMP is a growth-oriented master limited partnership formed by BP Pipelines to own, operate, develop and acquire pipelines and other midstream assets. BPMP's initial assets consist of interests in entities that own crude oil, natural gas, refined products and diluent pipelines serving as key infrastructure for BP and other customers to transport onshore crude oil production to BP's Whiting Refinery and offshore crude oil and natural gas production to key refining markets and trading and distribution hubs. Certain of our assets deliver refined products and diluent from the Whiting Refinery and other U.S. supply hubs to major demand centers.

  • Lead MLP drops from a business perspective in close engagement with M&A for USPL and broader business assets.
  • Capture value through driving asset readiness for drop through partnership with the business as required.
  • Develop and document drop process and lessons learnt.
  • Develop organizational capability to effectively manage drop process.
  • Effectively engage Senior Leadership, BPMP Management and conflicts committee as required.
  • Manage drops risks and develops mitigation plans.
  • Work with the BPMP CDO in service of an optimized drop strategy.
  • Ensure commercial readiness of assets; engage with business tags to ensure agreements are developed as appropriate.

  • Bachelor degree in relevant field - Business/legal/engineering.
  • MBA preferred but not essential.

  • Direct experience managing drop process in relation to a MLP.
  • Direct experience developing asset drop strategies.
  • Direct experience presenting and making recommendations to executives.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience.
  • Experience leading large cross functional teams.
