Men's Medium Secure Ward
Salary: Upwards of £43,000 (dependent on experience)

You will either be a qualified nurse or hold a clinical professional qualification within a multi-disciplinary profession and will lead a team of nursing and MDT staff to ensure clinical excellence and outstanding care are delivered at all times.
You will lead by example and inspire those around you to provide exceptional care and operational and clinical excellence on the ward. As part of the management team, you will work with colleagues and senior leaders to lead your team and achieve CQC outstanding.

Prichard is a 15-bed medium secure ward that provides care for male patients aged 18 - 35 years with a primary diagnosis of mental illness or personality disorder. We provide a range of therapeutic approaches within a medium secure setting which promotes a pathway to lower security or into the community. Prichard is part of the men's medium secure IPU based within William Wake House. We implement an empowering, individualised, and caring approach within a secure environment, ensuring that all patients have personalised care plans and therapeutic timetables that help them to manage their risks and achieve positive outcomes.
The role of the Nurse Manager/Ward Manager
You will have managerial and operational responsibility for your ward and all aspects of performance. Your effective day-to-day support and operational leadership will be key to maintaining operational excellence and high levels of nursing and care. There’s also plenty of scope for innovation as we’ll expect you to lead processes to improve the quality and operational management of your wards even further.
What you will need for this role
You will have management experience ideally in a deputy manager, manager, or senior leader position, and will be a strong communicator who can lead by example, implement new procedures and embed existing practices with a team. A positive outlook, strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills are vital. We want our Managers to inspire teams and set a clear and compelling vision, so you’ll need to be able to influence and support everyone around you and be enthusiastic and positive about change.
