Location: Birmingham

Band 3

Salary From £16,231- £19,977 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
Plus Clinical Allowance £683.00 Per Annum
Hours:  37.5 per week

Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor – Men’s Mental Health , Birmingham

An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy, Technical Instructor to join St Andrew’s Healthcare, Birmingham. Our Men's Care Pathway cares for men aged 18-65 plus, requiring secure care for their mental illness. You will work alongside registered Occupational Therapists.   Duties and responsibilities will include planning and undertaking, as directed by the Occupational Therapist, a selection of individual and group treatments using purposeful activity to enhance and maintain the person’s skills. This could include facilitating leisure pursuits such as arts and crafts and sports activities,  facilitating a range of vocational skills such as gardening, or facilitating a range of personal and domestic daily living tasks, such as cooking and self-care with the patients in order to increase their level of independence.

You should have:
•             An understanding of Occupational Therapy
•             Good team player and sound communication skills
•             The ability to work under pressure
•             The ability to build a rapport with this patient group
•             Organisational skills and an ability to take initiative and compete delegated tasks
•             Ability to lead activity groups under supervision
