Part of UK Schools, the Assessment division combines excellence in assessment with outstanding customer experience. The Assessment division has end-to-end responsibility for delivering on-time, accurate results of high stakes UK and international qualifications to our learners and first-class customer service to all our customers.
The Assessment division comprises:
Delivery team - accountable for the strategic delivery of our high stakes UK and international qualifications
Content team - accountable for the accurate delivery of our high stakes UK and international assessment instruments
Online assessment team - - accountable for the set-up and delivery of online marking and item banking systems. The team is responsible for driving innovation in marking and assessment and is looking to transform the assessment landscape to use available technology.
Part of the Online Assessment Set-up team, the Online Assessment Set-up Analyst is accountable for the set-up of assessment material on our online marking, item banking and onscreen testing platforms covering qualifications from the UK Schools General Qualifications (GQ) , Vocational Qualifications (VQ), Schools international portfolio and the Pearson Test of English.
The Online Assessment Set-up Analyst provides technical online assessment set-up expertise within the Assessment division, as well as across UK Schools and Pearson UK as appropriate, while ensuring the strategic, timely, cost effective and error-free delivery of high stakes UK and international qualifications.
The purpose of the Online Assessment Set-up Analyst role is to:
Set-up online marking and support systems for high stakes UK and international qualifications to time, quality and budget
Be an expert in knowing, servicing and retaining our customers
Be recognised as the technical online assessment set-up expert within Assessment and across UK Schools for area of responsibility
Set-up online marking and support systems for high stakes UK and international qualifications
Being accountable for the delivery of set-up for a group of high stakes qualifications to time, quality and budget
Ensuring adherence to all internal procedures at all times
Ensuring you meet or exceed all deadlines within the business calendar, establishing a reputation for always delivering on time
Being an expert in knowing, servicing and retaining our customers by developing a deep understanding of set-up for qualifications within area of responsibility, our customers and the markets in which we operate
Developing effective relationships with stakeholders across UK Schools to identify and solve customer problems for qualifications within area of responsibility
Technical Assessment expertise
Being the assessment expert for technical set-up of online marking, onscreen testing and item banking and continually developing expertise in light of changes to the education landscape
Represent the Assessment division as a technical Online assessment expert for area of responsibility, advising teams across UK Schools on assessment set-up issues and influencing future changes to qualifications and regulatory landscape as a thought leader
Owning personal development in relation to building technical assessment expertise, including identifying training and development needs and opportunities, and being responsible for continuous professional development of self and team
Understand, and be an advocate for, innovation in Online assessment systems and processes
Develop and utilise relationships across the UK Schools and Pearson UK business
Make use of management information (MI) and reporting, providing visibility, driving improvement, and building confidence and trust in Assessment
Be accountable for reporting accurate and timely data and information to the Online Assessment management team and wider business, escalating issues (with proposed solutions) as appropriate
