Our independence means we can always put patients’ interests at the heart of decision making, while re-investing surpluses in frontline services.  We are currently transforming the Charity and are introducing Integrated Practice Units (IPUs) as the vehicle to deliver ‘Value Based Healthcare’.  This will ensure our patients consistently get the best possible outcomes and local teams gain more control and responsibility.
 
The IPU
 
This is a role specifically designed to lead on the operational side for our Nottinghamshire IPU. The IPU provides community and secure hospital services to working age adults with a mild learning disability and/or an autistic spectrum condition.  The IPU aims to help patients and service users to care about themselves and others more, by providing a compassion-focused approach and a comprehensive range of therapies, in parallel with robust relational security.
 
The IPU has a track record for innovation, with its specialist care home alternative to hospital, and the only medium-secure therapeutic community in the country for men with learning disabilities.
 
The role
 
As Operational Lead you will report to and work alongside the Clinical Lead for the IPU. Your key focus will be overseeing the delivery of the end-to-end patient, family and carer experience, taking full responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the IPU.  This will include workforce planning, commercial and financial management and the execution of improvement activities.
 
With the focus on achieving the best clinical outcomes for your patients, you will need to implement and manage IPU improvement activities, identify workforce planning needs and ensure staffing across your IPU is consistently at the right level to deliver the needs of your patients.  You will ensure legal and regulatory compliance, and identify, assess and manage operational risks. 
 
You will also use your operational expertise to extract, analyse and interpret insights from performance data, manage business continuity and emergency planning and own the communication and messaging to all staff in your IPU.
