Job Description

The Planning and Scheduling Team Lead plays a vital role in the continued safe operations of the Texas City Chemical Plant. As the Planning and Scheduling Team Lead, you will lead a team of planners and schedulers in the identification, timing, and execution of maintenance work. You will have plant wide maintenance integration expense budget authority and be responsible for optimizing budget spending and control. You will collaborate with your team, the maintenance team, and the operations team to provide detailed work plans that comply with all applicable procedures, policies, and codes to insure the protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees and the community in which we operate.

  • Understands and assures compliance with all BP TCC policies, procedures & processes.
  • Provides and/or creates detailed work plans that comply with all applicable procedures, policies, and codes to insure the protection of the environment, and the health and safety of employees and the community in which we operate.
  • Provides and/or creates high quality work plans with attention to detail that ensure efficient craft work and solutions that solve the root cause of problems.
  • Monitor and maintain the unit priority lists to ensure that planned work meets the needs of the production department. Change SAP priority when timing is changed by production department
  • Plans work in SAP for all crafts.
  • Plan routine work and scheduled outages as needed.
  • Procures equipment, material and services per plant specifications and procedures for all planned work.
  • Stages and manages equipment and material for all planned work.
  • Insures stores accuracy by evaluating requirements, specifications & quantities.
  • Attends & participates in daily planning meetings and others as required.
  • Knows Management of Change (MOC) processes and Mechanical Integrity (MI) procedures
  • Ensures that direct reports are competent to perform their duties and understand and adhere to safe work practices
  • Reviews/manages the work order backlog.
  • Ensures all preventive maintenance work is scheduled and completed within the required intervals.
  • Builds detailed bills-of-materials (BOM's) and task lists for repeat jobs.
  • Develops daily and weekly schedules.
  • Minimizes or eliminates HSSE risks through assurance that job plans are thoroughly planned prior to releasing for execution.
  • Champions the continuous improvement of planning processes.
  • Ensures resource allocation is optimized thru effective scheduling priorities (RIME).
  • Tracks and communicates resource requirements for efficient work execution & planning.
  • Provides day-to-day functional leadership for all TCC maintenance planning and scheduling resources.
  • Assists with unscheduled priority events that go beyond one day to minimize impact of TCC availability.
  • Provides support as identified for TAR and capital planning & scheduling.Leads continuous improvement of Planner/Scheduler skills by identifying and providing training in the use of SAP and other software enhancements for planning / scheduling activities.

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • 5 years of planning & scheduling experience
  • 2 years SAP Maintenance Management System experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience prioritizing and scheduling maintenance work
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Ability to work cross functionally
