Product Manager, Accessibility Support

This is a one of a kind opportunity for a high energy and experienced accessibility product manager to help drive our exciting new accessibility initiative within Pearson: the largest learning company in the world.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in accessibility standards and best practices, and demonstrate a high aptitude for communicating with internal stakeholders and customers. This role is responsible for managing internal and external communications around accessibility initiatives, promoting adherence to quality standards, and supporting the creation of the best educational products in the market.
Go-to expert to direct to appropriate accessibility resources and ensure customer success. Work with customers to define and deliver scalable solutions around accessibility and ensure implementation of solutions that work going forward—i.e. avoid one-offs when possible. Develop input from internal and external stakeholders into action plans for products in alignment with the overall Accessibility Program goals. Maintain close communication with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of project plans according to specified objectives. Serve as customer point of contact to support and contribute to our support knowledge base.
In-house subject matter expert responsible for ensuring that customer targets are met while managing accessibility implementation. Participate actively on Pearson committees, councils and boards that drive our accessibility goals. Serve as the product-side voice for accessibility requirements. Comfortable with accessibility-related legislation and ability to maintain close communication with Pearson’s Accessibility Legal Counsel.
Evangelist to provide direct and consistent communications among product, technology, sales, and customer support teams with the overarching goal of ensuring that Pearson’s accessibility strategy is understood and implemented across Pearson.
BA required; MBA preferred
Extensive knowledge of accessibility standards and/or principles (WCAG 2.0 AA, etc.)
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Proven success in delivering initiatives within budget and specified timeframes
Proven problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to identify alternatives and make contingency plans
Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and altering priorities
Flexibility to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking
Medium to large scale projects and resource management experience.
Sales or marketing experience
SME with experience advising engineering teams
