The Program Technology Manager (PTM) is dedicated to planning and implementing technical portfolio strategies that best meet our corporate goals and customer expectations. Operational excellence, market leadership, and innovation are our leading principles when delivering our programs.

PTMs support the program's goals to meet customer expectations by serving as the bridge between the Customers and Technology. They have the ability to leverage relationships across Pearson to solve technical hurdles and foster awareness of our products and solutions with customers, Account Executives and Program Managers. In addition, they act as an escalation point for customers and Program Managers for all technology issues. PTMs are dedicated to programs from inception to closure.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the technology project team assigned to a program, overseeing the Solution Architects and ITPM's for delivery of the technology solution for assessment customers.
  • Serve as an escalation point for customers and Program Managers for technology issues.
  • Provide customer-facing technical assistance, product demonstrations and education.
  • Work with customers, Account Executives and Program Managers to explore the capabilities of our software solutions.
  • Serve to help customers find the best way to use Pearson assessment products to support their business requirements.
  • Support the proposal process by aiding the technical design through their combination of business and technical expertise. Participate in the proposal development process to ensure transition from proposal to award.
  • Assist with start-up programs. Work with delivery team to ensure they are prepared to assume ongoing responsibility for program after initial implementation.
  • Be voice of the customer to the Assessment Technology Engineering organization. Use this exposure to customer business requirements to help drive our product development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Strong mix of business and technical skills. Proven ability to use appropriate technology to solve business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in the development of technical solutions to solve complex business problems.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to communicate complicated technical material to a diverse audience.
  • Professional presentation skills, a confident communicator who is enthusiastic, self-starting and flexible in style and approach.
  • Ability to leverage relationships across Pearson to solve technical hurdles and foster awareness of our products and solutions with customers, Account Executives and Program Managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead projects and teams to achieve superior quality solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. MBA or advanced degree preferred. PMP certification desired.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of software development experience desired. A minimum of seven (7) years project management or technical lead responsibility is required.
  • Proven ability to understand, communicate, and resolve complex technical and project issues.
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting customer facing, high-volume, mission critical applications required. Web-based experience strongly desired.
  • Requirements analysis, solution design and implementation support of highly complex applications.
  • Familiarity with MS Projects (or similar tools) required.
