Job Description

Programme Leader

Are you an industry transformer?

When you combine higher education and industry, everyone benefits. Especially when there’s a need for graduates to stand out from the crowd in a competitive market.

Our mission is clear: to become one of the UK’s leading universities for in-depth industry engagement. As a pioneering Higher Education Institution (HEI), we’re transforming industry today and tomorrow, by designing and delivering education powered by industry experience.

At Pearson Business School, industry engagement is not just what we do, it’s what drives us. It’s who we are and it is what will take us, and our students, into the future.

Every university focuses on “employability” but what sets us apart is the level of industry engagement that we’re able to offer. As well as delivering workshops for our students, our industry partners also design, develop and deliver our courses, offer our students internship opportunities and set them live briefs to them real-life exposure. Our tutors also have a wealth of industry experience and as a result, our students learn from the best in the industry. It’s the key to delivering our vision of unlocking the potential in young people to transform industry today and tomorrow.

Working at Pearson Business School means you’ll not only be developing the talent of the next generation, but you’ll be networking with the best in the business too.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly engaging and enthusiastic Programme Leader for work based programmes with exceptional organisational skills.

As programme leader you will have responsibility for the day to day management and resourcing of our apprenticeship and post graduate business management programmes, working closely with both permanent and associate faculty. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience in an academic and/or training environment and a strong focus on providing an exceptional work-based student learning experience.

Specifically the role will include:

  • Resourcing and staffing of tutors for apprenticeship and post graduate programme modules, liaising directly with the Timetabling Manager.
  • Managing Associate tutors including communications, contracting, training and queries.
  • Ensuring that the programme modules run effectively in line with the pedagogic strategy of the business school.
  • Teaching and delivery of modules each term.
  • Managing PBS communications to apprentices and work-based learners.
  • Managing the operational running of the apprenticeship and post graduate programmes.
  • Liaise with Student Services to approve academic decisions relating to attendance, assessments and performance.

Why Pearson Business School?

Our stats speak for themselves:

  • 100% of Pearson Business School’s 2015/16 full-time degree graduates were in work or further study within six months following graduation, well above the national average
