Calderdale Adult Learning (CAL) is contracted as the local fund manager by the Education Skills Funding Agency to deliver a programme of adult learning, including community and accredited provision.

Job Description

CAL provides a range of skills, qualifications and informal learning opportunities across Calderdale for young people and adults, funded through external grants and tuition fee income.

 

The role requires in-depth knowledge of how to respond to community needs and how learning can inspire and change people’s lives. The ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders and partners, which will inform the development and delivery of a responsive, borough wide community learning programme.

 

The service is subject to Ofsted inspection and this post manages the quality of the service’s activities in a defined range of areas, so that it is consistently good and continuously improving and performance is in line with targets and national standards.

The successful candidate will be an experienced manager within an education setting, who leads by example and acts as an excellent role model to the team. You will be self-motivated, highly organised, and possess excellent communication skills, with a 'can-do' approach and focused on continual service improvement

 

Essential qualifications:

  • Level 6 - Degree or equivalent experience or expertise in the subject area (i.e. Education/ Teaching/ Learning/ Management)        
  • Level 5 - Teaching Qualification/or equivalent

 

Key Skills:

  • Excellent analytical/time management and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum developments
  • Performance management and improvement strategies
  • Ability to analyse learning and development data.
  • Understanding of educational frameworks and the requirements of qualification and regulatory bodies.
