The Projects Include:
• The Clean Heat Grant – an £100m grant scheme to support low-carbon heating among householders and small non-domestic consumers, due to launch in April 2022.
• The Green Gas Support Scheme – a £2bn tariff-based support scheme to incentivise biomethane injection into the gas grid, due to launch in autumn 2021, supported by a new Green Gas Levy on gas suppliers. The GGSS is likely to join the Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) in due course.
As these schemes move into operations, you are likely to take on responsibility for delivery of further new projects across the Heat & Buildings Portfolio.
What will the successful candidate be doing?
As a Project Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day project management of the Clean Heat Grant, Green Gas Support Scheme and associated Green Gas Levy to deliver the desired outcomes and outputs and realise the required benefits. You will drive the delivery of the projects to ensure that the objectives are achieved, working closely with the Deputy Director responsible for the policy on the schemes to supervise the work and jointly lead the teams. Working collaboratively with other Project Directors and Policy Deputy Directors across the Heat & Buildings Portfolio will also be critical to ensure our package of interventions remains coherent and delivers maximum value.
