Use your project management skills to deliver a key project to ensure our Relationship Fundraising division is compliant with GDPR and all relevant data protection legislation.

Job Description

We’re looking for a project manager with experience of working in a fundraising environment to help drive forward Macmillan's commitment to implementing and continually improving our approach in how we identify, manage and mitigate information risks and embed effective information governance into our fundraising activity.

The Role
As project manager you will ensure we are implementing our new data protection policies and guidance across our fundraising teams, systems, and data collection points. Working in the Relationship Fundraising Division, as part of Macmillan’s broad Fundraising, Marketing and Communications (FMC) Directorate, you’ll work with stakeholders across the organisation to develop and implement a project plan to identify and manage information risks and ensure the Information Asset register is complete and accurate.

You’ll be a key stakeholder in bridging central teams including technology, information governance and legal to ensure the division collects, stores and utilises supporter data in the most effective and compliant way. You will also work directly with fundraising delivery departments, to ensure we are engaging and training staff and effectively testing and optimising solutions to protect income generation activities and ensure excellent supporter experience.

You will be responsible for managing one area of work but will also feed into a broader programme of work around GDPR compliance and will need to work collaboratively with other project managers to ensure work is prioritised, sequenced, and aligned.

The Person
It’s not all about your technical project management expertise. Your track record must show ability to deliver high quality work under pressure and within tight deadlines. Remaining upbeat and professional whatever the pressures, you have well-developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills that contribute to effective liaison and team working.

You would have led a project team for successful delivery of projects. It will be to your advantage to have an understanding of working within a fundraising environment and a passion to implement positive change which will make a real difference.

Our Team
We are a very driven and solutions focussed team who is passionate about raising more money to help people with cancer and we would like you to be also. You will inspire the team to make positive and practical changes to ensure we keep Macmillan’s supporter data safe and protect our income so we can be there for more people with cancer when they need us most.

If this sounds like you – then we would love to hear from you!

What can we offer you?
We commit to actively developing you and offer benefits including a 34.5-hour week (with an early finish on Fridays), private medical insurance, life insurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous annual leave, and interest free loans for season ticket and gym membership.
