We seek a Publisher, New Digital Products , to join our Higher Education Courseware Product Management team, dedicated to creating innovative and research-based products that capitalize on market opportunities, meet customer needs and deliver better learning outcomes and experiences.

This role will take a lead on accelerating growth for our key digital product models - including Revel, Mylab and eBooks - across our Higher Education market portfolios, working closely with both product and go-to-market colleagues and customers to achieve product : market fit , develop markets and inform product-model roadmaps for the UK market. This is a very mission-focused role, harnessing customer-engagement, research, piloting and market-development efforts to drive adoption and usage of the next generation of digital learning experiences in higher education.

The role reports to the Director, Product Management UK HE & Professional, and will collaborate with teams in the UK and North America.

Collaboration, partnership and active stakeholder management are foundational to success in this role, alongside strong skills in understanding customers, testing product and feature propositions and using insights to both improve learning experiences and grow adoption and use in university courses. Thriving in an evolving environment, driving innovation and continuous improvement for better experiences will be important in a role that is at the heart of the digital transformation of our portfolio.

Reflecting this transition from print to digital, you might have a background in either digital product innovation in publishing, or product management, product development or product marketing experience in education, but we are keen to hear from anyone who can demonstrate the key skills and experience needed for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with customers to test product experiences, generate evidence, inform roadmaps and accelerate market uptake for digital product models.
  • Work with colleagues in UK sales and marketing teams to supportthe identification, assessmentand prioritization of market opportunities & customer pain points for new digital product models.
  • Design robust experiments to hone product model, product experience and product pricing strategies.
  • Contribute to the creation of new products and capabilities (using the product lifecycle methodology).
  • Collaborate closely on projects with colleagues from the Content, Experience Design, Production, Efficacy & Learning Research, and Product Platform teams to create product experiences that improve outcomes for learners and drive business value for Pearson.
  • Be accountable for the execution ofcustomer experience of key digital product models, including good fidelity of implementation in the classroom/ institution.
  • Use research, digital experience and analytics to inform product strategy and identify which customers to target/key jobs to be done.
  • Drive continuous improvement once digital product models have been launched, to optimize customer experience, adapt to specific UK and international market segment requirements, respond to competitor actions and improve learner, and commercial outcomes.
  • Support achievement of sales and usage targets for your product models
  • Act as an engaging and effective ambassador for Pearson digital products, generating excitement and enthusiasm internally and externally.
  • Understand competitor products and key drivers of market share.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent preferred), but most importantly a demonstrable ability to learn fast and think critically.
  • Curiosity, empathy and an ability to engage constructively with customers and learners, to discover their needs,
  • Good understanding of education and learning from a consumer viewpoint: ability to translate the winning product management strategies into actionable plans and products that drive value for customers and learners.
  • Great insight into the needs of different markets and the opportunities within them, capability to build execution around product strategies that serve multiple markets at once.
  • Deep comprehension of the digital world and ability to translate this into product realisation and ways of working.
  • High competence to balance strategic thinking with a focus on operational delivery.
  • Able to maintain a ruthless prioritisation to inform and drive the delivery of product roadmaps
