Who are we?

We are the Application Security team at Pearson and we are looking to change the face of application security assessment. Due to expansion in our team, we have an opening for a Full Stack JavaScript Developer to assist in building a new generation Application Security toolkit and management system.

About the role

This is an opportunity to influence the design and direction of the system in support of a world class team of security specialists. Aspects of the project include system integration; data analysis and correlation; reporting; scalability; and scheduled, distributed, tool execution. Working in Javascript ES6 with Node.js in the server, React in the client and running in the Cloud, we are taking a modern approach and pushing the tools to their limits. Horizontal scalability is a must and is designed in from the beginning, as is responsive design so that the system can be accessed from all platforms and devices.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • A creative approach to application development and a willingness to learn about Cyber Security
  • Good knowledge of Javascript / ES6 including use of classes
  • Node.JS / Express
  • Object oriented development
  • In depth knowledge of SQL
  • CSS

Other useful knowledge (we will teach you the stuff you don’t already know)

  • Responsive design including @media rules
  • React
  • Python
  • Ability to think for yourself and develop your skills
  • Git
  • Agile / Scrum
  • Jira
  • SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL
