Research Awards Manager

Salary from £28,721 to £33,244 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £35,768 pa inclusive of London allowance

The Research Awards team, within the Research Division, has specific responsibility for managing a portfolio of research projects from a range of external funding bodies. The team works to bridge the requirements of its research community and those of external funders/regulators and the LSE's own financial regulations.

The post-holder will have oversight for the key stages of research award management from the point a project is awarded funding through to the completion and closure of the project, ensuring compliance at each stage. The post-holder will work collaboratively with other team members and key academic and professional service staff in the School providing post award and financial support across a portfolio of academic departments and research centres to ensure the effective delivery of LSE’s research projects. The post-holder will work with existing systems and processes but be able to contribute to the enhancement and development these systems.

Candidates should be educated to degree level and/or ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.  Previous experience of working in a HEI research office environment or similar role is desirable but not essential.  They must be numerate and will have effective organisational and interpersonal skills together with the ability to recognise priorities, work well under pressure and adhere to deadlines, work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and are service-led, proactive and self-motivated, with a customer focused approach to work.
