The EPO houses a series of externally funded research projects concerning electoral hostility and the electoral experience of first time voters. The EPO is directed by Professor Michael Bruter and Dr Sarah Harrison who conduct innovative comparative quantitative and qualitative research in the fields of electoral psychology and electoral ergonomics.
The Research Officer will conduct independent and collaborative research in line with the EPO’s research programmes, as well as supporting the dissemination of the EPO’s research in a number of knowledge exchange activities and the administrative management of EPO and its research projects.
Candidates should have a completed PhD in political science or a related discipline by the post start date, a research portfolio in the fields of electoral psychology, electoral behaviour, and/or political psychology, excellent quantitative and qualitative research methods skills and consistently professional behaviours and skills. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of administering/ managing research projects, coordinating workshops/seminars/conferences and other knowledge exchange activities, and of designing and using research methods applied to social science questions. The ideal candidate will also have a research trajectory that is aligned to the field of electoral psychology.
