This role is supporting the K12 Learning Services team. This position will be located in the Hoboken, NJ area.

The Royalty Contracts Administrator is responsible for analyzing royalty information as it relates to contracts / amendments and inputs that information into the Royalty Accounting System for the USLS K12 organization. The administrator must effectively interact with and maintain a strong customer service relationship with editors, business units, authors, and agents. The individual must be able to work under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines to fulfill corporate and legal obligations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and interpret contracts, amendments and abstract forms.
  • Handle complex author agreements and amendments.
  • Input contract and financial information relating to royalties into the royaltysystem as well as perform general contract maintenance.
  • Manage and clear royalty sales suspense and subsidiary rights deferred items.
  • Respond/resolve inquiries/requests from business units; editorial groups; legal department; contracts department; authors; agents and other groups both from inside and outside the company.
  • Reviews reports and determines appropriate course of action to clear items from contracts on-hold / title hold and subsidiary rights deferred.
  • Participate in system enhancement training and development.
  • Assist in preparing and participate in or lead editorial workshops/work sessions as needed with editorial staff/business groups.
  • Identify and participate in continuous process improvements.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Provide general support to Royalties Manager.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of four years experience in publishing preferred.
  • Work experience with contracts is desirable, preferably in the publishing
  • business/royalties.
  • Formal education or equivalent - Four-year college degree is desirable or
  • equilavent work.

SKILLS PREFERRED

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to write Sequel (SQL) queries a plus.
  • Familiar with accounting functions.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Good research skills.
  • Ability to analyze / interpret legal documents is a plus.
  • Customer service experience is desirable.
  • Good math skills.
  • Effective communication (verbal & written) skills.
  • Strong Organization skills.
  • Work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work well within and across teams.
  • Analytical nature.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to deal with deadlines and pressure effectively.
  • SAP experience helpful.
  • Knowledge of RAS.
