This is a term time only role, working 195 days per annum.

The role is home/field based coveringWarwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Coventry. Candidates should be located within reasonable travelling distance within these areas.

This is a home based role; a laptop and mobile phone is provided, however, candidates should have a reliable home broadband connection.

Required Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will have a determination, drive and desire to achieve results, possess an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to spot opportunities, be able to work independently of direct supervision, is energetic, self-motivated, tenacious and determined, is results oriented and has a high degree of innovation.

As part of the high performing National Sales team managing your own territory, the purpose of a Secondary Schools Sales Consultant is to achieve market penetration, annual revenue, growth and retention targets through consultative selling, opportunity pipeline management, provide excellent customer support and curriculum guidance. Offering Academic qualifications, digital solutions and a product/service surround which supports the customer’s needs and helps them achieve their ambitions for their learner’s progression. You will meet with Heads of Department and key decision makers to understand their challenges and articulate how our products and services can support them in raising children’s attainment. In addition to this, the role involves:

  • Working with your colleagues in your regional sales team, leading on sales plans, delivering customer value, learner progression and business growth
  • Planning your strategy, working with data provided and CRM to identify opportunities and creating sales plans for targeting opportunities to grow profitable sales, driving sales effectiveness and efficiency
  • Building your pipeline - generating new opportunities across your area to generate business growth
  • Meeting with key decision makers, discovering their strategies and addressing their needs through presenting Pearson propositions
  • Proactively identifying opportunities whilst out in territory
  • Demonstrating marketplace knowledge and practical expertise, including managing stakeholders and conducting customer development activities
  • Smart working - delivering remote meetings where necessary using desktop sharing technology
  • Attending and presenting at events such as at curriculum days, conferences or creating your own events to drive strategically important opportunities in your area
  • Continually updating your knowledge of curriculum and our products and services to ensure you present the best proposition for the customer
  • Significant experience in a B2B sales environment selling complex solutions
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Good understanding of the UK Education market
  • Strong understanding of the sales process and has a track record of having applied these principles
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Good organisation/time management skills
  • Good communication skills - Written/Oral
  • Strong people skills with an ability to communicate and influence.
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies and skills. Comfortable with digital media
  • Team player and collaborative approach to work

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 successful years in sales, withexperience of successfully managing a sales territory and consultative B2B salesselling complex solutions at a senior level
  • Field based and a willingness to travel (80% of the time)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
