DWP. Digital with Purpose.
DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
We are looking for a Senior Applications Operations Engineer to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital. We're driving a once-in-a-generation transformation of government services, using fresh ideas and leading-edge technologies to create innovative, scalable, and user-centric digital solutions.
The DWP products and services we maintain and modernise will be used by nearly every person in the UK, at key moments in their lives. And our engineering challenge is huge:
The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.
Delivery. Work. Projects.
As a Senior Application Operations Engineer you will manage and lead a team of Application Operation Engineers.
You will use your deep technical skills, leadership and influence to drive technical delivery and support the end-to0end service of applications which will be used by millions of people, and which form the digital backbone to critical DWP services.
Some of those will be very complex - and you might be focused on delivering that one thing - other times you'll deliver across a range of less complex applications.
We'll rely on you to resolve issues, to anticipate potential problems and to achieve excellent user outcomes. We have a unique responsibility to put our users at the heart of everything we do.
You will be an expert and a champion for Applications Operations, and a key part of a thriving engineering community comprised of software, infrastructure, DevOps, Test Engineers and more.
You'll be able to analyse and resolve complex issues, and also provide support, training and coaching to ensure that DWP digital colleagues can do the same, so we continue to build services that really work for our users and colleagues.
