Senior Business Analyst, Business Transformation

Description

We are looking for a commercially minded senior business transformation analyst with to play a key role in setting the strategic direction of Pearson’s Global Business Services organisation and influencing wider business change. Furthermore, this position provides a broad insight into all aspects of the business, with high levels of exposure to senior management.

The successful candidate will have experience in end-to-end delivery of transformation projects and programs, preferable in a professional services or consulting environment. This role requires excellent problem solving skills, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally. In addition, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate ownership of their work-streams and strong project management skills.

Acting as a consultant, the candidate will help solve key business problems, progress shared services business transformation initiatives, answer business questions and influence business decisions. You will be an effective communicator and used to dealing with senior stakeholders and possess ability to explain key findings to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications

Business Analysis

Investigate operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. Assist in the analysis of stakeholder objectives, and the underlying issues arising from investigations into business requirements and problems, and identify options for consideration. Work iteratively with stakeholders, to identify potential benefits and available options for consideration, and in defining acceptance tests.

Business Modelling:

Conduct modelling activities for significant change programmes and across multiple business functions. Plan own modelling activities, selecting appropriate techniques and the correct level of detail for meeting assigned objectives. Document all data and findings throughout and presents findings to appropriate management personnel. Obtain input from and communicate modelling results to senior managers for agreement.

Benefits Reporting and Advisory:

Own and deliver business case performance and insights reporting. Conduct benefits tracking and deliver high quality reports on performance to business case on a regular and ad-hoc basis.. Communicate results and present business recommendations to upper and executive-level management to influence tactical and strategic decisions.

Performance Management and Continuous Improvement

Lead the implementation of KPIs to measure and manage performance across the Global Business Services Organisation. Liaise with business and domain functional teams for data and KPI governance. Design and implement KPI dashboards to inform upper and executive-level management staff.

Project / Transformation Management:

Lead transformation workstreams, and projects -perform relevant analyses, drive problem solving/ conceptual thinking, lead project meetings/ discussions, maintain and execute against project plans, develop and deliver presentations.

  • Proven ability to execute smaller projects and/or workstreams of larger projects with a number of interdependencies.
  • Client focused, with ability to listen carefully, understand client’s problems and provide advice and potential resolutions.
  • Equally comfortable leading small group discussions, problem solving in small teams, or working independently, and shifting among these effortlessly.
  • Ability to influence actions and gain the support of others to meet objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong presentation building and presenting ability.
  • Eagerness to learn from and to teach others.
  • Proactive approach combined with passion and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Leading by example and exceeding expectations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 3 years of experience in related industry / field; consulting experience preferred.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively as a team across various functions and work independently in an ambiguous, constantly changing environment.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in delivering operational and strategy projects, preferable in a shared services organisation, including organisational restructuring, operating model change, process improvements, end-to-end redesign etc..
