An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist with experience as a senior clinical pharmacist relevant to older people, dementia, brain injury to join the Pharmacy Team at St Andrew’s Healthcare, working at our Northampton site.
The multidisciplinary approach to patient focused care is strongly supported at St Andrew’s. Pharmacists play an active role as members of the MDT in ensuring that medicines are used optimally so that patients obtain the best possible outcomes from all their medicines in a safe and effective way.
The Role and Person
As a Senior Clinical Pharmacist with overall responsibility for Integrated Practice Units caring for individuals with Dementia, Huntingdon's Disease, and brain injuries you will have a key leadership role, working with other members of the MDT, to ensure that medicines are used optimally to support the complex needs of patients within this specialist area.
This role also involves providing Clinical Pharmacist input into designated wards, supporting the technicians with the supply of medication and taking part in the dispensary rota as Responsible Pharmacist.
A background and postgraduate qualification in an area of Clinical Pharmacy relevant to patients being cared for within these wards is required for this role and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council is essential.
