About the team
The Content Delivery team is a team of 11 highly driven delivery and supplier management professionals. We support the delivery of publishing programmes across the whole of Pearson's UK Learning Services department, which encompasses primary, secondary and FE markets.
The products the Learning Services department produces range from textbooks to interactive digital content and support UK schools and colleges across a wide range of subjects, including primary literacy, modern foreign languages, maths, science, and vocational subjects, such as engineering and adult care.
The Content Delivery team is a very busy team with lots of exciting challenges, opportunities to develop skills and competencies, and the chance to innovate and make real change to the department’s ways of working. We are a team of highly engaged individuals, passionate about delivering high quality educational resources to schools and colleges to support teachers and students in getting the best outcomes possible and to make progress in their lives through learning.
About the role
The Senior Content Delivery Manager role reports to the Head of Supplier Management & Delivery, forming the management team of 3, alongside a second Senior Content Delivery Manager. With line management responsibility for up to 4 Content Delivery Managers, this role provides a great opportunity for a line manager to develop their leadership skills. Working in this management team, the role will strategise and plan, with the business’s goals clearly in mind. Responsibilities include implementation of a crucial outsourcing strategy and standardising operations across the Learning Services department. This provides fantastic opportunities for developing high-level communication and influencing skills as the role collaborates with colleagues at all levels across the department, including senior management.
The role is very varied, and fast paced. There is a balance of mid to long-term planning reacting quickly to live and urgent issues.

Are you a line manager looking to develop your leadership skills? Do you have experience of supplier management? Can you influence and negotiate, at all levels? Do you cope well working with uncertainty? Do you enjoy developing operational strategy? Are you good at prioritising and reprioritising due to a constantly changing picture.
Whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, you will excel in this role if you enjoy leading people and using your people skills to engage, influence and drive the work of teams. You have probably had at least one with line management responsibility and are keen to develop your leadership skills.
We don't need you to have worked in publishing or education, but an interest in this area would be desirable. Experience of supplier management and / or project or programme management would be useful.
