The Content Specialist position, located in American Fork, UT, conducts meetings with subject matter experts to review and write examination items, assembles examinations, uses statistical data to evaluate items, ensures that test schedules are developed and maintained, coordinates content outline publications, and participates in job analyses.

Content Specialist

  • Facilitating Job Task Analysis (JTA) workshops, item writing workshops, content development workshops, and review sessions
  • Developing content for products
  • Providing training for SMEs and item writers
  • Review, evaluate and refine items to make the format consistent with accepted psychometric principles and specified styles
  • Direct committees of SMEs in reviewing and refining items to maximize content validity, correct content deficiencies, and select final item set
  • Assembling products, including scoring keys and manifests
  • Performing technical reviews of products
  • Performing item level and product level testing
  • Collecting and analyzing feedback from clients and customers and reworking content appropriately
  • Working with localization agencies to perform accurate localization of products
  • Undertaking periodic process reviews to improve and refine content development processes
  • Planning and implementing the maintenance of products
  • Developing and maintaining policy and procedure documents for product development and localization
  • Serve as liaison between the Content Development department and Technology and Quality Assurance (QA) team at Certiport
  • Development of technical requirements for Content Technologies team to ensure appropriate implementation of content products
  • Developing and maintaining polices for exchange of information and resources between Content Development, Technology, Project Management and QA
  • Undertaking periodic process reviews seeking to improve automation of tasks, processes, and tools

Facilitation - 10%

  • Create workshop materials
  • Work with other facilitators to refine shared meeting facilitation needs
  • Facilitate Item Training, JTA workshops, Tech Reviews, Standard setting meetings, and other meetings
  • Conduct in house training on exam development process industry standards.

Project Management 20%

  • Help develop overall schedules
  • Set deadlines and manage contractors schedules
  • Track due dates for multiple projects and participate in daily status meetings

Contractor Management 25%

  • Provide training and feedback to contractors
  • Coordinate resources for meetings and content development
  • Assign work and manage workflow for resources

Content Management 45%

  • Learn and use content management systems, processes, and policies
  • Review and evaluate content for consistency and accuracy to certification industry standards
  • Analyze and improve item performance
  • Plan maintenance of existing content

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts, English, Education, Information Technology, Instructional Design or equivalent
  • 2 years professional test development experience
  • Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
  • Strong knowledge of Web applications and exposure to web development
  • High degree of technical literacy
  • Experience with tools for creating and modifying digital graphics
  • Experience with Agile development methodology preferred
  • A background in the testing and assessment industry is strongly preferred. Item and Test Development experience, as well as teaching experience, is a plus.
