We are looking for an experienced marketing strategist and a planner to take on the role as Senior Manager, Marketing strategy and planning and look after key aspects of global marketing and planning in order to bring the Pearson brand to life via experiences that drive awareness, increased adoption and loyalty with the intent of forming long-term emotional connections—for both internal and external audiences.

The Senior Manager, Marketing strategy and planning will work to deliver brand and marketing strategy programs and a global marketing planning process that engages audiences; he or she will use these insights to develop and activate programs that effectively promote the Pearson brand, produce actionable data, improve perceptions, and increase speed to desired actions. These programs are an essential part of the brand strategy and deliver on Pearson’s ambition to position itself as a curator and enabler of employability experiences and outcomes. The successful candidate will also partner closely with others, including regional marketing, product marketing, product design (ux) global and local campaign management, and global research and insights, in order to effectively craft, deploy and measure the success of brand activation programs and content.

Reporting to the Director of Global Campaigns, Content and Creative you will be part of a team helping to shape and deliver the overall Pearson brand strategy, while building the global brand community and culture to identify and scale best-practice. Collaboration, partnership and active stakeholder management with a service leadership approach is foundational to success in this role. Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver key brand programs ranging from content strategy to marketing strategy for product innovations .

Develop comprehensive and efficient action plans for brand program rollout and measurement in markets

Gather insights from audiences and relevant audience personas and map them to user journeys identifying key opportunities to influence and infuse the brand into touchpoints.

Identify common marketing challenges across the markets and create briefs and plans that are fit-for-purpose

Work closely with Global Product, local marketing teams, corporate communications, internal communications to ensure that all individual efforts are being looked at as a whole and through the lens of the audience’s brand experience and make recommendations for improvement.

Supports the deployment of assets, content and campaigns by demonstrating the connection to audience experience and promoting the journeys internally to illustrate progress towards the ambition of being experience-led.

Consider and recommend most relevant brand activation measures to meet strategic objectives and deliver strong ROI (such as generating trial or sign-up, awareness, engagement brand switching and brand loyalty)

Develop and scale best practice processes and tools to improve impact, effectiveness and efficiency of global marketing investment

Evaluates real-time and post-program performance as necessary by coordinating with finance and research & insights, and develop reports to share progress and accomplishments.

In collaboration with creative specialists supports markets, businesses and products with the implementation of content and marketing best practices.

Identifies relevant strategic partners for brand activation collaborations.

Works with relevant teams to create buy-in for global campaigns and content across the internal and external stakeholders, including presentation development and workshops or training sessions.

Key Attributes:

Extensive experience in a brand implementation or activation role

Strong understanding of consumer brand marketing and a passion for challenger brands

Strong project management skills

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Excellent team and leadership skills with experience in managing small teams of marketing strategists

Agency experience a plus

Degree (or equivalent) preferred
