We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with an interest in working with men and women with Personality Disorder and co morbid mental health difficulties, who require specialist assessments and treatment within a forensic psychiatric setting.

Essex-Mental illness and PD IPU
Mental Illness and PD IPU service comprises of six wards. We offer male and female PICU service, 3 Low secure wards and locked Rehab for older Adults services. Within our Occupational Therapy team we offer comprehensive ADL, community skills and vocational pathways. The IPU also offers Sensory Integration approaches and is seeking to significantly expand its provision of these in the next 12 months.
The Person and Role
As an experienced registered OT, you would be joining a highly motivated, knowledgeable and innovative OT team. You will contribute to a multi-disciplinary team, taking responsibility for a clinical caseload, and offering OT specific assessment and treatment to groups and individuals within your care. Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, with the ability to develop good professional relationships with members of the MDT.

You will demonstrate good understanding of OT within secure services, including an application of risk assessment skills. In sharing your experience of applying the OT process, you should also emphasise how you promote our specialism as a profession.
