We are looking for a pro-active policy professional to help shape and drive our financial services policy agenda, with in depth knowledge of financial services consumer issues, particularly for those who are potentially vulnerable.
Reporting to the Policy Manager (Financial Services), you will play a leading role in our policy team, using your expertise and knowledge to ensure our policy work is authoritative and relevant to the complex financial services landscape.
Working as part of the Policy and Influence (Financial Services) team, you will develop policy positions and solutions that work across the four nations of the UK. You will work closely with colleagues in Evidence and Macmillan’s service delivery teams to ensure our policy work is highly credible and grounded in the diverse everyday experiences of people affected by cancer and professionals.
You will support the work of colleagues across Policy, Campaigns and Influence, Communications and our Services teams, providing expert advice where appropriate. You will also provide advice to senior colleagues and represent Macmillan externally at events.
You will have an in depth understanding of the issues relevant to financial services consumers - ideally people living with a disability, long-term health condition or related vulnerability - and the associated regulatory and wider policy agendas. You will have experience of delivering high-level influencing in this area, perhaps gained through working at a regulator, firm, financial sector body or charity. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working as part of a team to develop and implement influencing objectives. You will be a skilled communicator with a proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
