One of our fast-growing, flagship products is Pearson Test of English Academic, our high-stakes English language test. This year, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the launch of PTE Academic and have an ambitious growth plan in place. Key to this is significantly enhancing the end-to-end customer experience through the development of a new portal for our customers, supporting their complete learning and test taking journey. This is a truly global product which grew 30% in 2018 and enables customers around the world to achieve their ambitions. In doing so, it generates a significant revenue stream for Pearson.

We are seeking a leader to deliver our next-generation portal for PTE Academic

  • Accountable to the executive sponsor for overall eCommerce project delivery, coordinate a cross-functional and cross-divisional team (Product Management, User Experience, Development, QA, external vendors) in delivering a new web portal.
  • Clearly articulate the overall vision for the portal, including the customer problems it solves, the differing requirements of our customer groups and the competitive advantage it will offer. Share and discuss this with Pearson stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong understanding of technical architecture, its capabilities and constraints to ensure delivery of a robust solution meeting business requirements
  • Oversee solution design activities and support the translation of the solution design into actionable work for development teams.
  • Oversee the coordination of external vendor(s), coordinate and define Statements of Work), negotiate contracts and ensure selected vendor are on boarded and are consistently driving outcomes.
  • Actively, identify and manage dependencies within and across features and capabilities and teams and evaluate downstream impacts due to strategic and development decisions.
  • Work with internal engineering teams and vendor(s) to ensure adherence to product release schedules and the overall roadmap

Qualifications

What you will have done previously:-

  • Proven track record in delivering a digital/ mobile/ eCommerce product or platform
  • Understanding of and empathy for what makes for an excellent end-to-end customer experience, for customers based around the globe
  • Track record of project delivery across various business functions.
  • Experience of creating and running commercial business cases
  • Experience delivering market-leading digital products, working in a matrix structure
  • Experience with education / assessment preferred but not essential
