The Senior Quality & Accreditation Manager post is a specialist leadership role – with the individual being recognised as the technical authority for the quality and accreditation of Vocational or General Qualifications.
The primary function of this role is to confirm that Pearson’s qualifications are fit for purpose and where regulated comply with all regulatory requirements.
They provide expert technical guidance on regulated and self regulated products primarily to Product Management and Qualification Development teams but also to the wider business as required.
The Senior Quality & Accreditation Manager is expected to have knowledge of best practice for the development of Vocational and/or General Qualifications and is able to consider the impact of his/her advice on the commercial viability and operational delivery of business needs.
The post has a high level of accountability for decisions that will have a direct impact on public confidence and Pearson’s reputation.
The development of SRO sign-off risk criteria to determine escalated sign offs
Approval as appropriate of qualifications on behalf of the Responsible officer Pearson Qualifications
Provide Management Reporting on the qualification development process as appropriate.
Providing clear positions on the quality and regulatory robustness of qualifications to support the business throughout the developments.
Developing and delivering training for internal and external staff to build the expertise of Pearson as an Awarding Organisation
To achieve all tasks and objectives within agreed budgets and other management parameters
Within the ever changing landscape of education, it is essential that the standards team keep abreast of the demands that accompany this change, being a leading voice in the continued global standards debate.

Contributing to the development of IT systems to support qualification development work
Flexibility of working patterns during peak periods

Engaging with all key stakeholders, including Ofqual, CCEA, Qualification Wales & DfE
Planning and reporting using management information
Adopting a constructive and positive approach to influence others
In-depth knowledge of the methodologies assessment and regulatory frameworks.
Ability to balance multiple sources of information and viewpoints to make judgements that will impact the commercial viability and quality of Pearson products.
These judgements must be transparent, consistent over time and in the interests of protecting the integrity of the qualification suites.
