The Senior Software Developer is responsible for analysis, design, implementation, and unit testing to produce high-quality code in their business area. The Senior Software Developer will use industry best practices while serving as a role model and mentor in a team of high-performing professionals. The Senior Software Developer will contribute beyond assigned tasks in developing innovative solutions and fostering high team morale. They are also responsible for maintaining and supporting mission-critical applications as necessary. Senior Software Developers are expected to mentor software developers and continually contribute to process improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Desire to expand knowledge in many development languages, applications, and tools
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new processes and tools, business domains and technical applications
  • Ability to think technically and analytically
  • Ability to understand philosophy of architecture
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Must assimilate information, distill knowledge, apply experience and provide solution alternatives and recommendations
  • Must have strong time management skills – including the ability to work well under pressure, plan, set priorities, adapt to change, and meet established timelines
  • Must develop effective relationships with internal and external contacts and work well within a team
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must have a “positive” and energetic demeanor
  • Ability and desire to mentor

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline
  • 6 years relevant software development experience creating business applications with relational database systems
  • 1 years experience in software architecture
