Job Description

The Investigations Command provides a flexible, shared operational capability, designed to maximise the impact of the UK's collective resources against serious and organised crime, and in specialist support of major crime. Our teams respond to a broad range of threats, many of which also remain a responsibility for police forces and other agencies as well as private industry. 

Our teams also lead investigations across the Serious and Organised Crime landscape and provide a national service of specialist investigative skills and expertise to support major crime investigations conducted by police forces, such as abduction, serial sexual crime and no body murder. 

The National Crime Agency are looking for skilled and dedicated Operational Team leaders who are able to command, successfully plan and deliver proactive operations against clearly determined objectives ; ensuring all operational activity is subject of a structured debrief. NCA Surveillance Operatives respond to a broad range of threats and it is the responsibility of the Senior Officers to effectively manage their teams in order that they exploit every opportunity to secure intelligence and evidence and provide tactical advice to Investigation leads. 

We are looking for experienced Q1 or Q 0.5 College of Policing Senior Surveillance Operatives. Successful candidates will possess an in-depth knowledge and use of relevant legislation (UK and International law) affecting operational agency activity and proven experience of successfully leading/supervising a team to deliver against operational objectives/performance. Candidates will also have experience in effective operational decision making with accountability for the decisions made.

Experience Criteria 
You will be required to supply evidence of: 

  • An in-depth knowledge and use of relevant legislation (UK and International law) affecting operational agency activity
  • Proven experience of successfully leading or supervising people of a team to deliver against operational objectives and performance
  • Experience in effective operational decision making with accountability for decisions made

 

Qualifications

Candidates must hold the following qualifications/accreditation: 

  • Police Advanced Driver 
  • Q1 or Q 0.5 surveillance trained 
  • PIP2 or equivalent recognised qualification/accreditation issued by a government body (Individuals must obtain PIP2 Supervisor as part of Probation.
