Role Summary: 

  • To lead the end-to-end implementation and / or upgrade of Screening Deployed and Transaction Monitoring systems for assigned clients. This includes;
  • Owning the project plan, and using technical know-how to successfully deliver the project
  • Providing training on the use and support of the systems
  • To provide recommendations and guidance to clients on appropriate implementation / upgrade options, and to resolve specific technical challenges that may be encountered prior to, during or post installation. This includes;
  • Providing expert advice and guidance in a pre-sales capacity
  • Providing demonstrations of the system capabilities
  • To be a pro-active member of a high performing team (encouraging a culture of collaboration) that delivers across the key activities of Professional Services for the Screening Deployed and Transaction Monitoring business segment

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Designs the implementation and / or upgrade of complex Screening Deployed and / or Transaction Monitoring systems for assigned clients:

  • Liaises with the client to identify and document high-level business and technical requirements; including input to or authoring of complex statements of work and estimating the Professional Services effort required for the implementation
  • Provides clients with recommendations for implementation options and system design in line with system pre-requisites
  • Liaises within the Professional Services team for requirements clarification where needed
  • Escalates to the Product Manager and Application Architect where additional clarity required to confirm technical requirements
  • Plans and agrees implementation timelines with the client. Creates and shares the project plan
  • Updates planning systems to provide visibility to line management on work allocation

Executes on the implementation and / or upgrade of complex Screening Deployed and / or Transaction Monitoring systems for assigned clients:

  • Updates time and planning systems, and the project plan, to provide ongoing visibility to line management on project progress and ongoing work allocation
  • Escalates project blockers, project slippage, and scope change requests to line management


Executes the implementation:

  • Advises the client on ensuring the correct inbound data mappings are created, and identifies data required for client-specific monitoring scenarios
  • Prepares and configures the clients environment(s)
  • Installs and configures the application
  • Modifies rule-sets as required in accordance with client requirements
  • Unit tests the application to ensure basic system integrity
  • Overseas, and provides support for, client UAT
  • Provides client with documentation on how to complete ‘go live’

Provides client with recommendations, including:

  • Housekeeping task that maintain and improve system performance
  • Appropriate rule-sets to reach expected results, and to avoid unintended or undesired results

Completes ‘go live’ activities including acceptance signoff, final documentation, and handover to support.

Investigates and resolves all issues raised during or post implementation / upgrade of a client implementation, and when covering 3rd line technical support:

  • Ensures the issue has been correctly captured including, where applicable, log files

Works proactively and autonomously to investigate and resolve the issue:

  • Searches the Professional Services knowledgebase for solutions
  • Proactively attempts options to resolve
  • Collaboratively liaises with Professional Services colleagues and line management
  • Escalates to the Product Manager and / or Application Architect as a final option

Documents the solution to the issue in the knowledgebase
Escalates to line management if no solution found

Delivers comprehensive training to clients on the use and support of Screening Deployed and / or Transaction Monitoring software:

  • Plans for training within the implementation project
  • Provides support to sales for pre-sales client demonstrations

Collaboratively works within the Professional Services team in a culture of continued improvement and ongoing success:

  • Shares implementation and support lessons learned with the Professional Services team
  • Continually looks for better ways to support / implement the applications, and contributes ideas to the team or line management
  • Proactively provides feedback on documentation and knowledgebase articles where change would drive greater efficiency and productivity
  • Regularly interacts with Professional Services team members around the globe


Key Relationships: 

The Technical Consultant:

  • Reports to the EMEA head of Professional Services
  • Builds productive relationships through the Professional Services, Product and Development, and Sales teams for Screening Deployed and Transaction Monitoring
  • Builds strong relationships with clients at the appropriate level to be seen as the trusted business advisor.


Essential Skills and Experience:

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate evidence of the following:

Robust technical experience backed up with deep understanding of:

Deployment and support of business applications in a Client-Server, relational database, LAN-based environment.
Configuration and troubleshooting of

  • Microsoft Windows 2008 server and higher
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and higher, including competency in writing SQL queries
  • Web services, including Tomcat and Apache



  • Excellent, well-developed interpersonal, client-facing skills; written and oral in French and English
  • Experience of providing client training and presentations
  • Ability to elicit and document client business and technical requirements
  • A strong track record of leading complex technical implementations:
  • Creating project plans, and working with project planning tools
  • Managing client and internal team expectations
  • Ability to operate independently and autonomously
  • Ensuring on-time delivery, with appropriate escalations where necessary
  • Demonstrable advanced technical problem solving skills of complex issues, and follow-through actions including documenting and sharing solutions
  • Evidence of collaborative working within a globally distributed Professional Services team
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%)
  • Technical implementation experience within a regulated or financial services sector
  • Broad experience and understanding of data privacy and data security
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office


Desired Skills and Experience: 

It is useful if candidates are able to demonstrate evidence of the following:

  • Excellent, well-developed interpersonal, client-facing skills; written and oral in German, Spanish or Italian
  • Working with Financial Institutions in the KYC space and broad understanding of financial crime, AML and / or Transaction Monitoring
  • Experience of financial systems and techniques in corporate and retail banking
  • Technical competency with Groovy scripting, XML, Java, J2EE, process management, and / or workflow
  • Experience in system modelling; for example clustered databases and hub / satellite implementations of systems
