The Senior Technical Consultant is involved in delivering Solcara software solutions to customers and prospects.

Job Description

 The role requires face-to-face customer engagement so the candidate must demonstrate good communication skills. The candidate is sometimes required to travel to customer sites for sales support, requirements gathering and software deployment. Most of the work is on servers in our office at Canada Square and sometimes performed connected to the customer’s network, so a strong sense of care and diligence is required when operating in third party network environments that may be areas critical to the customer’s operations. As a senior consultant you will be expected to manage all aspects of the projects assigned to you, from gathering specifications to development, testing and delivering the solution to the best quality, on time and within budget. 

Another significant part of the role is investigating and resolving customer issues. To resolve these issues commonly requires a strong technical understanding of our products and of the customer’s technical environment. The role will be supported by the Solcara support and development teams. The work also involves the development of software that connects Solcara’s technologies with third party information sources and Intranet systems.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities: 

  • Work with clients to define the scope of projects and to determine requirements
  • Develop agreed enhancements and implement new customer deployments
  • Prepare documentation and present regular progress reports to customers
  • Collaborate with internal customers and external vendors and stakeholders to exchange information clearly and in a timely manner
  • Build relationships with customers, which are important to coordinate and manage successfully
  • Work with customers to understand technical and business opportunities 
  • Work with other Solcara team members to investigate and resolve customer or product technical issues

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Proven development experience, ideally in a .Net environment, including C#
  • Strong web development skills including JavaScript and experience of web development frameworks
  • Expert knowledge of Internet Information System (IIS)
  • SQL Server development experience 
  • Excellent technical and non-technical problem solving skills
  • Self-starter and proactive, always aiming for setting and achieving higher standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Able to deliver multiple implementation projects simultaneously 
  • Good client management and persuasion skills with excellent listening skills

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Strong implementation consultant experience
  • Classic ASP experience 
  • Windows security

Education/ Certifications Required: 

Computer Science or related degree or relevant experience
