Project Managers (PM) manage one or more individual development or business maintenance projects of varying complexity, scope, duration and budget following the policies and procedures of the Clinical Project Management Office (CPMO). The PM will oversee the complete project life cycle including preliminary planning through publication as well as project sustaining or maintenance activities. With a move toward digital publishing, knowledge of the software development life cycle as well as software project management methodologies are strongly desired.

A Sr. Project Manager would have the same responsibilities but would be expected to carry a heavier project assignment load, or manage larger, more complex or higher visibility projects.

This position will focus on the overall management and successful delivery of products on one or more of our online delivery systems including management of roadmaps and associated artifacts, coordination with other project managers for digital work within those projects as well as strong financial management including budgeting and forecasting. This position may also have responsibility for project management of non-digital projects as well as other duties in support of the Project Management Office.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of successful project management experience and deep knowledge of the test development process, the software development life cycle and experience with implementing such products into the market. Strong financial budgeting, tracking and management required. Programming skills and experience utilizing a variety of Project Management software applications a plus.

The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing Scope documentation - initial drafts, vetting, approvals and identifying scope risk (resources, clarity, capacity) maintaining change logs.
  • Managing Project Schedules including initial development, vetting, tracking, managing schedule risks and managing close out in accordance with CPMO policies
  • Managing project Budgets including obtaining and vetting cost estimates, monitoring and tracking expenses throughout project, managing budget risks, validating expenditures in accordance with SOX compliancy requirements
  • Maintaining all project artifacts throughout the development cycle, including schedules, budgets, variance reports, scope, change requests, etc.
  • Managing day to day tasks and deliverables across project team
  • Managing all project status reporting - maintain project dashboard – proactively provide project updates to project team and project stakeholders
  • Elevating project risks and issues as appropriate, proactively work to resolution
  • Ensuring that quality steps and processes are in place and communicated to the team, and that quality issues are addressed
  • Archiving of project management documents, including close out of project artifacts
  • Orchestrating/facilitating prioritization and decision making for executive team
  • Collaborating with the project development teams including content and software delivery teams and key stakeholders throughout project to resolve schedule, resourcing or financial issues or address revisions in prioritization
  • Managing vendors regarding SOWs, invoicing, delivery of deliverables

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or other business related field.
  • Excellent Project Management Skills (PMP, Agile or other such certification strongly desired)
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • 5 years hands on project management experience managing large scale projects
  • Experience managing on shore and off shore 3rd party vendors and invoicing
  • Experience managing test development projects
  • Understanding of software development life cycle and experience in managing software projects
  • Experience managing projects in an Agile environment using SCRUM methodology
